Chris at home up a mountain

Part of the Adventure Pursuits Team Chris loves exploring the outdoors in his spare time.

Growing up in Cornwall there was not a lot else to do except ‘explore the outdoors’ so Chris’s early days were spent roaming Dartmoor or splashing around on the Atlantic ocean.

Upon moving further North Chris quickly developed a taste for the fantastic mountain ranges that the UK has to offer and has walked, climbed and scrambled all over the UK and some Alpine peaks including the Matterhorn.

When not in the hills Chris loves nothing more then to get out in a sea kayak and continue his adventures at coastal level on single or multi day trips. Chris’s kayak adventures have taken him to Scotlands West coast, SW England and some of the finest waters of British Columbia, Canada.

Chris has travelled extensively but he maintains that the UK is still a world-class adventure venue. There is so much to explore or do right on our own door step and its all so accessible.

He enjoys helping people explore the outdoors and realise their ambitions through friendly, helpful guiding, coaching or tuition and holds a 7307 C&G Adult and further education teaching certificate and has many years experience of teaching adults and teenagers in a variety of operational and leisure pursuits.

Chris is a fully qualified Mountain Leader (ML), which means he is able to lead summer walking parties in the hills, mountains and moorlands of Britain and Ireland. He is undergoing Winter (ML) and BCU Kayak training that will enable him to expand the activities he can lead.

As with all our instructors he holds a valid First Aid certificate and has additional training as a Tactical Care Officer.
