Andy on The Cuillin Ridge, Isle of Skye

Andy’s love of the outdoors started when he was a child, as a member of the Air Training Corps he took part in many outdoor activities including the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme. This progressed further during his life  in the Army, since then he has spent what seems all of his spare time enjoying the wonders of the world.

His travels have taken him around the world, experiencing different activities.

Andy is a fully qualified Mountain Leader (ML) and Winter Mountain Leader (WML)which means he is able to lead walking parties in the hills, mountains and moorlands of Britain and Ireland in summer and winter conditions.  He is also a holder of the Single Pitch Award, which means he is able to supervise and instruct rock climbers on single pitch crags and climbing walls.

He provides guided Mountain Bike tours and riding instruction as he is a Trail Cycle Leader having qualified through the MBLA (Mountain Bike Leadership Award). For more information visit www.britishcycling.org.uk/scotland.

Andy currently holds a valid first aid certificate, which was gained with Golden Valley Training (2 day emergency first aid for outdoor instructors).
